The project, which Tasnim Harianawala very well coordinated, was marked with the gracious presence of the District Governor Manoj Babur, 1st VDG Natwar Banka, 2nd VDG Vikas Saraf, PID Dr. Raju Manwani, PDG Hemantraj Sethia, PDG Umesh Gandhi, PDG Bharat Shah, DCS Nimesh Shah, DCT Urvi Registrar, District PR & Marketing Bhavana Patel, and many Lion members from 25 participating clubs. Leos of Andheri Achievers and Carter Road, under the leadership of Shishir Maheshwari, the Multiple District President, took an active part and even managed the distribution of food packets supplied by one of the Leos of Andheri Achievers.

From the Police Department, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shree Datta Nalawade graced the function. The Dist. Governor Manoj Babur welcomed him. DCP Sir inspected the Medical Camp and interacted with Lion Dignitaries. Sr. Inspector of Police, Andheri Police Station, Mr. Umesh Machinder, inaugurated the barricades and received 15 barricades with the names of sponsoring clubs printed on them. Everyone appreciated the quality of the barricades, which were very sturdy, big, and strong. Though more than 100 barricades have been handed over to the Police in the last 5 years, these barricades are the best. Even the quality of the stickers used was of reflective material, as they reflect light in the night and shine. For the first time, reflective material was used. The design of the barricades and the stickers printed on them were strictly as per the Guidelines issued by the DCP Sir.

We were supposed to take out THE  RALLY of the students from the school to the Police Station. However, due to heavy rains, we had to alter the plans. As the District Governor mentioned in his address, we were ready with our PLAN B and organized the function inside the School Auditorium. This proved to be a blessing in disguise as Lion members got sufficient time to interact and dance with the students. Lion Members, led by the District Governor, the 1st Lady of the District, Barkha Babur, and 2nd VDG Vikas Saraf, took the Lazim and demonstrated their skill on the floor of the auditorium. The students were carrying the placards of “Nasha Bandhi” and “SAY NO TO DRUGS”. This function was flagged off by THE DG TEAM, PID, PDGs present, and the Senior Inspector of Police. Principal of the school, Mr. Prashant Lopes, also addressed the gathering. Food packets that were originally to be distributed at the Police Station were distributed at the school.

We all moved, thereafter, to the Andheri Police Station, where all 15 Barricades were lined up and demonstrated. The Police had designed the Barricades and the stickers on them. Stickers carried the LOGOS OF LIONS INTERNATIONAL AND THE CHALO LOGO OF THE DISTRICT, AS WELL AS THE NAME OF THE SPONSORING CLUB. The DG team and PID formally handed over the barricades to the Senior Inspector of Police Mr. Umesh Machinder, who, in his address, thanked Lions Clubs for this unique Three-In-One project. All the dignitaries were welcomed with a bouquet. DG MANOJ BABUR, 1st VDG NATWAR BANKA, 2nd VDG VIKAS SARAF, PID Dr. Raju Manwani, and GST COORDINATOR Tasnim Harianawala addressed the gathering. The contribution and the support of all the participating clubs were recognized by offering flowers to the Respective Presidents. The support of the Project coordinators, Shilpi Rastogi and Shraddha More, along with all the committee members, including Leos, was duly recognized. DCS Nimesh Shah proposed the vote of thanks.
