1st District Cabinet Meet 2025-26

THE JOURNEY BEGINS – A GRAND KICKOFF!

The 1st District Cabinet Meeting of 2025–26 began with the lighting of the lamp and a peaceful meditation led by Pooja Shah.

DG Manoj Babur welcomed Chief Guest International 2nd VP Manoj Shah & ID Pankaj Mehta.

Orlando Experience: DG shared heartfelt moments from his Orlando installation highlighting flawless time management, excellent planning, a vibrant parade, and the International exhibition attended by representatives from over 200 countries.

RC’s & ZC’s were invited by DG to present monthly reports of their respective clubs.

Notebook Distribution: 60,000 notebooks were donated across schools with 58 clubs participating. DG thanked Rajendra Jhunjhunwala for contributing 50% and appreciated Club Millennium for their support.

Youth Exchange: GFA Youth Sunil Shah & District GST Tasnim Harianawala conducted an excellent youth exchange session from 16 countries.

Environment Project: GFA Environment Umesh Joshi reported about 150 trees planted at Pratibha Vidhyamandir, Virar on 1st August 2025 with participation of 50 clubs, each club contributing ₹2,000.

Club Marketing Training: Club marketing heads attended a session at Uttan. Venue was provided by Yogendra Rajpuria, and training was conducted by District Marketing Rajesh Salian & Team.

Peace Poster Contest: Marcian Albes informed that kits must be ordered by 30th September and posters submitted by 15th November. RC’s & ZC’s were asked to follow up with their respective clubs.

Road Safety Project: Rahul Rastogi announced a rally for traffic awareness and donation of 15 traffic barricades. Medical camps for traffic police, taxi and auto drivers are also planned.

Twinning Initiative: DC Twinning Manmohan Gupta installed 20 clubs together and set a target for them to achieve the Excellence Award.

Diabetes Awareness: GFA Diabetes Vineet Rastogi announced 8 upcoming camps under Project Madhuraksha.

Support for the Differently Abled: Alex George formed Sophia Foundation and booked 7 flats in Bhayandar for special children and their families. Fundraising musical shows are planned on 17th September and 7th October with contributions ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹2 lakh.

CLLI Session: Suneit Gandhi and Rashida Kapadia conducted a session with 52 members at Lions Club of Vijaynagar.

Health & Wellness: Chalo President Raz Manva spoke about health benefits of colour therapy and offered free workshops.

Lions Quest: Chairperson Nitin Purkar and team reported conducting 8 teacher training workshops reaching 16,000 children. Upcoming Rohit Mehta Lions Quest Week is scheduled from 18th to 25th August with a target of 50,000 student participants (counted under OSW).

Check Dams: Deepak Choudhari announced the completion of 100 check dams including 64 dams in the District. Jal Minister is expected to attend the 100th dam’s inauguration in September. He also introduced the Baijal Model of water conservation costing ₹10,000 per acre.

1st District Cabinet Meet 2025–26

LCIF Donation: Rajesh Agarwala pledged ₹1 crore to support Lions Quest, Check Dam & other projects, handing over a cheque of ₹50 lakh to DG. Funds to be contributed to LCIF India, coordinated by ID Pankaj Mehta, PDG Umesh Gandhi, and PDG K. L. Parmar.

GLT Report: First GLT Guiding Lion workshop conducted by PDG Deepak Chaudhari and PDG Rajesh Mehra. GLT Seminar EVOLVE scheduled on 17th August at Ginger Hotel (9 am–2 pm) with faculties PDG Umesh Gandhi, PDG Anand Mehta, Manisha Jain & Santosh Goyal. Next session will be on 7th December.

Women Membership Drive: Shraddha More shared that LC Palghar added 7 women members in their club and expected to add 4 more new members.

Membership Growth: Executive GET Kirti Ajmera reported net growth of 315 members. Nearly 52 clubs added members. Target set: at least 1 member per club.

Blood Donation Drive: District GST Coordinator Tasnim Harianawala announced region-wise drives starting from 15th to 25th August 2025. She also announced the Education Project “School Se University Chalo” on 12th September with a visit to Amity University.

DG announced OSW Preparatory Meeting date as 3rd September.

Star Club of the Month: Lions Club of Millennium declared star club for July.

DG recognized all members who donated $1,000 to LCIF this year.

District Directory Release: District PR & Lions Information Bhavna Shailesh Patel & team launched District Directory 2025–26. It was unveiled by DG Manoj Babur, Chief Guest International 2nd VP Manoj Shah, ID Pankaj Mehta, IPDG Saraswati Sankar, 1st VDG Natwar Banka & 2nd VDG Vikas Saraf. The launch, themed on Radha-Krishna, beautifully conveyed how the directory connects all Lion members.

District Admin: Anil Kedia & team reported about events held to date, with excellent coordination of secretary team, venue & food.

Finance: DCT Urvi Registrar & team shared financial updates and statutory formalities.

Secretary Report: DCS Nimesh Shah & team reported updates on events in June–July: 94% clubs filled PU101, 27% reported service activities, 10% booked DG visits, and 75% completed installations.

ID Pankaj Mehta: Congratulated DG Manoj Babur for winning two Mission 1.5 awards (Quick Start Challenge & Two Club Charter Challenge). Urged members to welcome IPP Frank Moore in Mumbai. Encouraged $500+ LCIF donations. Emphasized Mission 1.5 growth. Highlighted his participation in News18’s Shivshakti Awards. Advocated for more Ladies Clubs.

2nd VP Manoj Shah: Recalled DG Manoj Babur’s support during his 3rd VP campaign. Appreciated DG’s recognition in Orlando before 10,000 Lions. Praised ongoing district work and recognized Rajesh Agarwal’s generous donation.

The first Cabinet Meeting ended on a high note, with clear direction, renewed dedication, and the spirit of Lionism stronger than ever.
