Major Highlights & Events

  • 24 August – Rohit Mehta Lions Quest Service Week Finale
    A grand finale was held as a separate function for the first time.
    Awards were presented to 72 Club Presidents, as well as deserving Region and Zone Chairpersons, for exemplary implementation of Lions Quest and service activities.
  • 1 September – HIV Children Support Project (Sion Hospital)
    Successfully coordinated by Lion Suraj Jain and Lion Tasnim Harianwala, providing nutritional and emotional support to children living with HIV.
  • 3 September – October Service Week Preparatory Meeting
    Held at Nirmal Hall, Kandivali (East) with participation from 78 clubs.
    Planning and execution strategies for OSW were finalized.
  • District Directory
    The District Directory was dispatched to all members through courier.A splendid work by PR Team.
  • 19 September – Fundraising (FRD) Event
    Organized by Lion Meena Ramaswamy, the event saw an impressive turnout of 730 participants, including 170 non-Lion guests, showcasing strong community engagement.
  • 1 October – Vision Camp (Sane Guruji School)
    Conducted by District Sight First Trust in collaboration with Lions Clubs of Willingdon Crescent and Millennium.
    The camp provided free vision check-ups and treatment for underprivileged students.
  • 2 October – October Service Week (OSW) Inauguration
    Attended by 402 Lion members.
    Chief Guest: Immediate Past International President Lion Fabricio Oliveira
    Inaugurated by: ID Lion Pankaj Mehta
    Keynote Speaker: Pravin Mankar
    The event marked the formal beginning of District-wide service celebrations.

District Service Projects & Initiatives in OSW

  1. Food Kit Distribution – 1,725 kits distributed (worth ₹900 each), supported by Lion Rajesh Agarwal through LCIF with ₹200 per kit.
  2. Nutritional Bags Distribution – 682 nutritional kits provided to childhood cancer and TB patients, supported by Lion Rajesh Agarwal (LCIF).
  3. Free Mammography Camps – 20 camps organized under the leadership of Lion Netra Sorap.
  4. Mental Health Awareness Program – Supported by Rajesh Agarwal. Participation from 52 clubs, comprising:
    • (A) “Buddy Workshop” attended by 80 Lion members
    • (B) Skit Competition on Mental Health at D.G. Khetan School with 140 participants
    • (C) Musical Programme for childhood cancer patients and families
    • (D)Awareness Drive across 19 railway stations from Bandra to Dahanu, coordinated by:
      • 1st Team: GST Chairperson Lion Tasnim Harianwala
      • 2nd Team: 1st VDG Lion Natwar Banka
      • 3rd Team: 2nd VDG Lion Vikas Saraf
        Each team included professional performers and volunteers who executed a full-day awareness initiative.
  5. Visit of International Director Dato Yeoh Win Chin & Lion Lady Genevie (Malaysia)
    Hosted from 4th to 8th October 2025, the visiting dignitaries were taken across major District projects and expressed deep appreciation for the quality and variety of service activities.
  6. Other Major Projects
    • Sanitary Napkin Distribution.
    • Vision and Diabetes Projects – 6 Region wise.
    • Food for 1,000 School Students – Organized by Lion T. S. Anand at Gurudwara premises.
    • 208 Pressure Cookers distributed with a ₹300 subsidy sponsored by Lion N. H. Agarwal.
    • Wheel chairs,Sewing Machines, Blankets, and Bedsheets distributed through clubs under District facilitation.
    • Sweets to Army Jawans Project – Under the leadership of Chairperson Lion Suhas Narvekar, a total of 11,000 sweet boxes were sent to army units stationed across various locations in India.
      A special inaugural ceremony for this patriotic initiative was held on 4th October 2025, attended by senior Army officers and Lions dignitaries.
    • GFA Vision Dr Prem Agarwal Organised a vision camp for 5000 students at Andheri.
    • GFA Hunger Ln Nanu Sodhaa organised Reliving the Hunger project for 1000 people at Malad West

12 October – OSW Finale & Awards Ceremony

  • Attendance: 442 Lions members
  • Cultural Highlight: “Ramayan” stage play, highly appreciated by all.
  • Chief Guest: PID Lion Dr. Raju Manwani
  • Participation: 108 Clubs
    • 88 Clubs received Awards
    • 20 Clubs received Certificates of Appreciation

International President’s Certificates were awarded to:
Lion Manoj Babur, Ln Natwar Banka, Ln Vikas Saraf, Lion Nimesh Shah, Lion Urvi Registrar, Lion Bhavna Patel, Lion Preity Sodha, Lion Sunil Lavti, Lion Anil Kedia, Lion Neha Bandekar, Lion Shradha More, Lion Meena Ramaswamy, and Pravin Mankar.

Best Club of the Month Awards:

  • July: Lions Club of Millennium.
  • August: Lions Club of Mahavir Nagar.
  • September: Lions Club of Juhu.

Lions Club of Millenium organised a camp in the villages bordering Gujarat where Note books, School Uniforms,Raincoats, Food Bags were distributed in month of July.

Lions Club of Mahavir Nagar executed a unique Sensory Garden Project at Punarvas for differently-abled children in Month of August.

Lions Club of Juhu inaugurated a Renovated 6th Floor OPD Centre at Tata Memorial Hospital (₹2 crore project) and committed to completing another floor by August 2026.
They have conducted 230+ food donation drives, with a sponsor pledging support for 100 additional drives
