Lions Clubs International District 3231A3 observed the Global Mental Health and Wellbeing Week with a vibrant and thought-provoking celebration on 5th October 2025 from 4-8 pm, at DG Khetan School Auditorium, Malad (West). The event, themed around theatre as a medium of spreading awareness, highlighted the urgent need to recognize, understand, and support mental health across all ages and communities.
The evening witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of Lions, Leos, students, and mental health advocates. The highlight of the celebration was a Street Play Competition on Mental Health, where participating teams used art and performance to raise awareness about depression, anxiety, stigma, and emotional resilience. The powerful performances brought home the message that mental health deserves as much attention and compassion as physical health.
The event was graced by an august gathering of Lions leaders and dignitaries.
Chief Guest – International Director Lion Dato’ Yeow Wah Chin inspired the audience with his words on the global importance of mental health and how Lions can play a vital role in nurturing wellbeing across societies.
Guest of Honor – Past Multiple Council Chairperson PDG Dr Khwaja Mudassir, shared his experiences as a medical expert and commended the district’s efforts in bringing this sensitive yet essential theme to the forefront.
District Governor Lion Manoj Babur was the driving forces behind this initiative, radiating energy, passion, and the true “Simba spirit” that has become the hallmark of District 3231A3.
Also present were 1st VDG Lion Natwar Banka, 2nd VDG Lion Vikas Saraf, and a galaxy of Past District Governors – PDG Chandrashekhar Ghag, PDG Hemantraj Sethia, alongwith Lion Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, district officers, and club members who extended their wholehearted support.
The event was conceptualized and hosted by Lion Dr. Sumit Goel, who set the tone with his insightful address emphasizing that mental health is both the most neglected and the most vital aspect of human existence.
Lion Tasnim Harianawala, District GST Coordinator, was specially acknowledged for her relentless dedication and organizational efforts in making the event a grand success.
Special Invitees, Mr. Hemant Chaudhary and Dr. Nisheeth Chandra, added grace to the evening with their presence. The event’s seamless flow was anchored by Ms. Yogita Jain, a skilled hypnotherapist and engaging host, whose warmth and energy kept the audience captivated.

The Global Mental Health and Wellbeing Week celebration by Lions District 3231A3 served as a reminder that service begins with empathy, and that caring for minds is as essential as healing bodies.
The message was clear — Together, we can Create Hope, Awaken Hearts, Love Deeply, and Reach Out — CHALO!
