A Journey of Pride and Purpose – My DGE Tour Across the USA

As I reflect on the incredible journey that led me to the honor of being installed as District Governor, I am filled with immense gratitude and joy. This wasn’t just a tour – it was a milestone in my Lions journey, filled with unforgettable moments, heartfelt celebrations, and the spirit of Lionism at every step.

✈️ A Heartfelt Send-Off – Bon Voyage

DG Team, Micro Team, and several Hon’ble Past District Governors who came personally to bless and cheer for me. Their presence, encouragement, and words of pride were overwhelming and deeply humbling. That moment reminded me that this journey was not mine alone – it was a collective celebration of our district’s unity and spirit.

Accompanied by my loving wife Barkha and our daughter, we set off on a memorable tour across the United States – with our final destination being Orlando, where I would officially be installed as District Governor at the 107th Lions International Convention.

🗽 Across the USA – Exploring & Experiencing

Our first stop was the iconic New York City. We explored the bustling Times Square, cruised to the Statue of Liberty, and took in breathtaking views from the One World Observatory on the 102nd floor. The energy of NYC was unmatched and set the tone for an exhilarating journey.

In Washington D.C., we visited the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and took a guided tour through the historic Lincoln Memorial, US Capitol, and Washington Monument – moments that gave us a deep appreciation for leadership, legacy, and vision.

Then came the majestic Niagara Falls – the Maid of the Mist cruise brought us face to face with the power of nature, while the Cave of the Winds, Goat Island, and Devils Hole added thrill and wonder. The night view of the Falls Illumination was truly magical.

A quick yet wonderful stop in Miami included a vibrant Bay Cruise and city tour. Then it was time to head to Orlando, the heart of the convention.

🌍 Lions International Convention – A Global Celebration

From the moment we arrived in Orlando, the energy of Lionism was everywhere.

On 13th July, we joined the LCI Event with thousands of Lions from all continents.

On 14th July, we proudly marched in the Parade of Nations, waving our district flag with pride and unity. The evening concluded with an International Show, showcasing the global brotherhood of Lions.

Throughout the week, we participated in various plenary sessions, connected with leaders from across the globe, and gained valuable insights on service, innovation, and growth.

On 16th July, we visited Universal Studios, where we shared laughter and leisure as a family and as a team.

🏅 Honored on the International Stage

On 15th and 17th July, I stood on the grand stage of the Convention Centre, being honored

First, for chartering two new clubs, and

Second, for achieving 25% membership growth within the first 15 days of July.

The highlight – listening to Newly Installed International President A P Singh’s powerful address was truly inspiring. His words on service, compassion, and transformative leadership moved every heart in the room.

I was officially installed as District Governor on the said date. That moment – hearing my name called, wearing the DG pin, and representing our district on a global stage – was a culmination of years of commitment and collective effort.

Throughout the entire journey, I had the joy of traveling with Yohanan Sakaria, Babu Varghese, Simon, Hitendra Shah, and their gracious spouses. Your companionship, support, and energy added color to every destination and strength to every step.

🤝 A Hero’s Welcome Home

When we returned to India, we were met once again with love and pride. At the airport, the DG Team, Micro Team, were there to receive me as the newly installed District Governor. The flowers, hugs, cheers, and blessings marked the perfect end to this unforgettable chapter.

This journey has taught me that leadership is not just about holding a position – it’s about carrying the hopes, dreams, and spirit of a team, a district, and a global mission.
